How to make your home dry warm and comfortable
When we fall in love with our house in Portugal we are often so full of the excitement of the move and the new adventure that we make massive allowances regarding the condition of the property and think to ourselves that we will get it straight over time.
The warm weather comes and it’s very quickly too hot to work on the house especially as its going to mean moving furniture, making a mess and the work will take ages to do. So it gets put off until later.
Soon the first rains of the autumn are showing in patches of peeling paint and condensation running down the walls and windows.
Not looking forward to another winter and make do by installing another dehumidifier or two.
There are several ways that you can make your home dry
There are several ways that you can make your home warm
It is vital that you do BOTH – Make your house dry and warm and comfortable at the same time.
The reasons are that if you make a damp house warm you will spread the humidity to other areas of the property which will cause problems including rot and fungal growth making the environment hazardous to live in.
If you make your home dry and not warm you will be too hot to sleep in the summer and too cold to enjoy being in the house in the winter.
We can assist you by looking at your home and advising you on how to make it warm and dry. We can even do this for houses that you are thinking of buying. So that you know what any additional cost would be.
Portugal is even more of a pleasure when you have a comfortable home.
